Guest Posting on Blind Travels
Thank you for your interest in contributing to Blind Travels.
Blind Travels is a travel resource created by and for blind and low vision travelers. Our goal is to publish thoughtful, experience‑driven content that helps people travel with more confidence, independence, and curiosity. Guest posts are one of the ways we expand that conversation, when they genuinely serve our readers.
This page outlines what we look for in guest contributions, how to submit, and what does not fit our editorial mission.
Who Can Submit a Guest Post
You do not need to be blind or disabled to submit a guest post.
We welcome submissions from:
- Blind and low vision travelers sharing lived experience
- Sighted travelers writing about traveling with, alongside, or in support of blind or low vision people
- Tour operators, guides, or hospitality professionals sharing real‑world experiences working with blind or low vision guests
What matters most is perspective, respect, and usefulness to our audience.
What We Love to Publish
Strong guest posts for Blind Travels often include:
- Practical travel tips or travel hacks that actually work
- First‑hand travel experiences, from either a blind or sighted perspective
- Lessons learned while traveling with, guiding, or supporting blind or low vision travelers
- Sensory‑rich descriptions that go beyond visual language
- Honest reflections that help readers avoid common pitfalls and travel with more confidence
If a reader can take something from your post and use it on their next trip, you are on the right track.
Tone and Voice
Blind Travels content is:
- Conversational, not academic
- Informative without being preachy
- Honest, encouraging, and grounded in real experience
- Free of pity narratives or “inspiration” framing
Blindness and low vision are not treated as tragedies or superpowers. They are simply part of how people experience the world.
Accessibility Requirements
Accessibility is not optional.
All guest posts must follow these guidelines:
- All included images must include accurate, descriptive alt text
- Avoid visual‑only language without context (for example, “as you can see”)
- Describe environments using sound, texture, orientation, and other non‑visual cues when relevant
Posts that do not meet basic accessibility standards will be returned for revision.
